Sidestreet was born from my love of travel and curiosity about the world. Since my first international trip to South America, I’ve been hooked on learning about other cultures and ways of life.
I like being in the middle of a chaotic city taking in the sights, smells, and sounds and adapting on the fly. Comparatively, I feel right at home in a remote town or village when I need a slower pace to life. The beauty of travel is the unexpectedness, which comes from being open, curious, and adventurous. I’ve made incredible friends, for life, by pushing myself outside my comfort zone to experience the most of my trips.
I hope that these stories resonate or inspire you to take a slower travel approach, immersing yourself in a place and culture. This blog strives to connect travellers with local experiences, perspectives, and recommendations while balancing a curious and considered approach to travel. The Sidestreet ethos is to wander with an open mind while trying things that are a bit more off the beaten path.
